In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in San Diego; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 10:30 am–10:30 pm. My favorite Korean chain in the US. I've been here 10+ times and always look forward to going back The Jomaru checklist is fairly simple. Do you like delicious Korean food? Do you like pork? Do you like spicy food? Do you like hotpot style soups/stews? If so, Jomaru might be a good spot for you. They have some other things, but I've always had either the Haejangguk or the Gam Ja Tang. Both are what I consider to be Korean comfort food. Tasty, fresh, and fun to share. There are only 4 locations in the US, and two are in the greater SD area, so consider yourself lucky if you can try one!

Got the large hangover soup and easily shared it with 3 people and still had leftovers to eat for 2 more meals. It was a PACKED pot, and never ending. Their bonchon was also a good accompaniment. Steamed egg was also so fluffy and a big portion. Cheesy corn was delicious. And I absolutely loved the tteokbokki!!!

If you are looking for an authentic taste of Korea in San Diego, Jomaru Hot Pot is a must-visit. I recently stopped in and had the Hot Pot Bibimbap, and it was good. As someone who spent a significant amount of time stationed in South Korea 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷, finding a bowl that matches the quality and tradition of what you get in-country can be a challenge. Jomaru absolutely nails it. The sizzle of the stone pot 🍲 🍲 creates that perfect, crispy rice crust at the bottom that is the hallmark of a great Bibimbap. The portions are incredibly generous, ensuring you won't leave hungry. To top it off, the banchan(side dishes) were fresh, flavorful, and served in the traditional style that really completes the meal. Whether you're looking to satisfy a craving for nostalgic flavors or just want a high-quality, filling meal, I highly recommend checking this spot out. I’ll definitely be back!

YOU WILL NOT REGRET! Came here with my buddy and we were super hungry. We first shared a corn cheese then we each got a soup. I got the spicy tofu soup and it had the whole ocean in there a big variety ! My buddy got the ox bone suit and loved it bc the brisket slices had so much flavor. Their sides were amazing. We shared the bulgogi over rice both loved it. But our favorite item was the Galbi, which is marinated short rib in a steamed pot get it trust me. Service is good restaurant is clean. Definitely coming back here.

The staff was very friendly and efficient. I like that they generously offered us more banchan as well as more broth for our gamjatang. Hot pot on a chilly night? 🙌 Yesssss, please! The Sesame Leaves Seafood Pancake with shrimp, calamari and sesame leaves was delicious as well!
